I accepted the challenge!
What challenge may you ask? The Douglas Elliman Florida Style Board Challenge! Growing up in sunny Southern California I know what's it's like to live in luxury, as the weather is always perfect and the sun is always shining. One of my favorite places to go as an LA native is the beach. I love laying out in the sun on a blanket and enjoying what I packed in my French basket weave tote. But since I live in the valley, I don't get to enjoy the beach breeze unless I'm driving for an hour or more. If I had it my way, I'd be living in bright Miami, Florida where the beach is only minutes away. That would only happen in a dream, but who doesn't like day dreaming?

If I were to have the house of my dreams, I'd cohesively put together rooms inspired by France and the beach. I'd keep the space minimalistic with a chic edge, making it as comfortable and inviting as can be. As a creative individual, I made style boards inspired by my dreams of Florida, France, and the beach. Take a look at my French minimalistic beach-inspired home.

How To Create Your Dream Florida Style Room

Enough dreaming! It's time to turn fantasy into reality! Just because I don't live in a big home walking distance from the beach doesn't mean I can't make my place feel like the I'm there. Here are my tips and tricks for bringing elements of your interior dreams into the home you live in now.

1. Get New Furniture

Ikea is one of my favorite places to get furniture. It's a good idea to look up bigger pieces like desks, furnitures, beds, etc. online before going in-store as what you're looking may not be on display. However, with Ikea's wide selection of products, you're sure to leave with a cart full of necessities.

2. Pick Out Paint

Now that you have all of your furniture, it's time to get some paint to make your dream room pop. Lowes is a great place to go to if you're looking to paint. I would suggest looking at the swatch wall to see what color you're going for. Since we're drawing inspiration from the beach, baby blue is a good choice of color. Once you choose the exact color that you want, give it to an employee so they can make it for you.

3. Choose Pots & Plants

This is my favorite part! I love choosing decorations for the house, especially if they're pots and plants. Plants add a natural element to the inside of your home. With France and the beach in mind, I would select these detailed ceramic pots. I would fill them with cacti and even some blue flowers for an elegant touch.

4. Go Home & Put Together Your Dream Room

Now that you have everything, it's time to head home and put together everything that you purchased. The best way to go about this is to take one room at a time. I would suggest painting whatever walls you want paint first so you can see how everything else ties together with the color. If you like that beautiful baby blue color on the walls, then start incorporating big furniture like couches, beds, and dressers. After everything is set to your liking, start assembling small furniture like tables, lamps, and so on. At this point, you'll start to see your dream room come to life. But don't stop there! Pot the plants you purchased outside and put them on countertops and patios spaces. For that French beach vibe, place things like dried starfish, beach-inspired illustrations, eucalyptus candles, and french lavender throughout the house. With this, your dream room will become reality.

If you're looking for the perfect home to live in and create your dream rooms, take a look at Douglas Elliman Properties! With their numerous amount of selections around California, New York, and of course sunny Florida you're sure to find the home of your dreams.

Eyebrows!
How many of us have gone through the struggle of trying different products looking for the ones that make up our everyday brow routine? I sure have. But I can tell you one thing, a girl boss never gives up especially when coming to her makeup. Being an avid blog reader and Youtube subscriber, I've done my fair share of research when coming to perfecting my eyebrows. With the new incorporation of Glossier's Boy Brow, I finally have a complete set of holy grail products that give me smooth and seamless brows every time. Here they are!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz {Color: Dark Brown}
Glossier Boy Brow {Color: Black}
Benefit Cosmetics Ka-Brow! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Color w/ Brush {Color: 05-Deep}
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisterizer {Color: Cuba-Medium 3}

As a girl boss, I'm constantly planning, working, and most importantly making decisions. But one thing I like to put off before starting my day is doing my makeup. When I'm on the go, I simply don't have time to sit down at my vanity and carefully engage in my daily makeup routine. I want to beat that LA traffic and skip the long line at my favorite cafe before heading to work. So with a minimal look, I go to Alfred {Coffee + Kitchen} and order my signature vanilla latte. After getting my coffee I sit down, turn on my computer, and open Photo Booth so I can start doing my makeup. I lay out all my products in-order and follow an easy 4-step routine that never fails.

1. Shape The Brows
I gently brush my brow hairs in the direction that I want with the spooly on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I then turn it around to the other side for the the easy-to-use retractable pencil and start adding small strokes in the direction I brushed my hairs. This creates the overall shape of my brows so I can use it as a guide for the steps coming up.

2. Tint
With the Glossier Boy Brow, I use the small applicator brush to tint my eyebrows black as a match for my dark hair. I mainly focus on the middle part of my brows when coming to my strokes as I like to keep that part nice and thick. I make sure to brush in the direction that I set my hairs in Step 1 to keep the look I'm going for consistent. Sometimes this pomade is all I need for a natural look, but on a busy day I like to keep my eyebrows prominent and long-lasting. This product keeps its color throughout the entire day and the best part, no residue or fading.
3. Brow Gel
The Benefit Cosmetics Ka-Brow! Cream-Gel is the best I've used out of all the products I've tried in the past. With the convenient angled brush on top, I'm able to sharpen and define my brows in seconds. Starting of at the end of my eyebrow, I define the tail so I can determine the length before filling them in. I like to get them as identical as possible but as we all know eyebrows are sisters, not twins. Once I get that right on both ends I start filling in the open spaces left after step 1 & 2. I like to keep my brows faded at the beginning for a more natural look so I make sure to brush lightly and carefully in that area.

4. Seal The Deal w/ My Secret Weapon
After my brows are complete, I seal the deal by using a small amount of NARS tinted moisturizer along the edges. This gets rid of any mistakes I made and makes my brows look extra smooth. At this point, my eyebrows are completely done but I like to use a secret weapon of mine. Q-tips! Sometimes I have some wonky brush marks around the parts I may have messed up on and it can get messy without having something to wipe it off with. Q-tips are the perfect thing to have on-hand as they can get to the spots I'm trying to fix without having to start all over.

That concludes my eyebrow routine!
Doing my makeup on the way to my desitination is the most convenient way to make myself pretty on the run. If you're a girl boss too, then this is the perfect routine to follow for your eyebrows.

Remember when I said that I'll be incorporating some new products into my beauty routine? Well, if you read my post "Pretty in #Glossier Pink" you know exactly what I'm talking about. Read it? Great! Now guess what arrived in the mail!

Yes, the one and only Glossier Boy Brow! I was so excited that I literally screamed after seeing it at my front door. I have never been so thrilled to try a beauty product. I immediately took it into my room with a pair of scissors and opened the box. I was pleasantly greeted with the prettiest packaging I've ever seen! The box was baby pink on the inside featuring their motto "Skin first, Makeup Second, Smile Always". How cute! My beautiful Boy Brow was there in a chic hot pink packaging and was acquainted by stickers and a double-sided poster. I was so impressed with Glossier's product presentation that I had to take out my camera and take a couple of shots. But what made me buy the Boy Brow in the first place?

Well, after sadly running out of my Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel, I've been looking for another one to take it's place. Being in love with Glossier lately, I've been looking at the beauty products on their website. I also know that some of my favorite bloggers Rachel Nguyen, Chriselle Lim, Christine Nguyen, Cali Vintage, and many more use this product. All of that gave me the extra push to purchase the infamous Boy Brow. Overall, I look forward to using it and seeing it in action myself. I'll be sure to let you know how I like it in a special post coming up!

How'd you like that mail time? After coming across such beautiful packaging from Glossier, I named this "Postage". As an avid online shopper, I tend to purchase more stuff online as opposed to in-store and in result get a ton of packages. I'm thinking about continuing to do posts like this one and show you the products that I get in the mail, like an unboxing. I love watching unboxing videos on Youtube and it would be fun to do something like that here! Let me know what you think!

During the summer, Alfred Tea Room opened and I found myself making what I like to call "tea room runs". Alfred's cute aesthetic and high quality tea keeps me coming back every week. Sometimes I even like to stop by Alfred {Coffee & Kitchen} as I love their signature coffee sleeves and wide variety of Pressed Juicery drinks. When I go out for coffee or tea I like to bring a couple of my favorite things. I typically grab a table for myself and paint my nails, do my makeup, and browse the internet as I indulge in my coffee, or in this case a rose tea latte. Following this routine makes tea room runs an enjoyable part of the week that I always look forward to.

When I wake up in the morning and get ready to head to the cafe, I'm definitely not wearing makeup. I like to rock a natural look when traveling to my destination so I don't waste time trying to perfect my look at home. After my nails are nice and dry, I take out a couple of beauty products to freshen up my face. The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is now one of my holy grail products that I like to carry everywhere. With a couple of light brushes, my lashes always come out looking prim and proper. I then put on a couple of dabs of the Philosophy Amazing Grace Eau de Toillete. This perfume is nothing but clean and fragrant. It makes me feel girly and cute as I browse through the shops on Melrose.

It's rare that people take the time to enjoy themselves at cafe's as it seems like there isn't much to do. Well, it looks like I'm the exception as enjoying myself is one of my specialities. With time on my side and tea in my hands, painting my nails at the coffee shop is something I love to do. I have a new found love for nail polish and I've been using Sally Hanson's Miracle Gel nail polish. I love the color white and I like to include it in my wardrobe. When looking at nail inspiration online, I can't help but notice and appreciate the fresh appeal of white nails. Painting my nails while having a coffee break has become a traditional moment of relaxation.

If you're going to be hanging out for a while, you might as well take advantage of the free wi-fi. My makeup is on, my nails are done, and now it's really time to wind down. I turn on my iPad and go to a couple of sites, but one of my favorite places to visit is Pinterest. I like Pinterest because I'm able to create boards and pin my favorite things. The color pink is the epitome of inspiration for me as it is a reflection of me holding onto whatever ounce of summer there is left. With Pinterest I hash-tag all things pink and get to pinning. But one page in particular has inspired me to incorporate more pink into my everyday life.

Glossier Pink's Pinterest features countless images that showcase the color in an artistic and minimalistic way. I've noticed the same appeal is used when coming to the marketing of Glossier beauty products. The first time I heard about them was through watching my favorite blogger Rachel Nguyen of That's Chic. With inspiration from Glossier's mood board and recommendations from Rachel, I plan on incorporating some new products into my cafe beauty routine. I'm particularly interested in the Rose Balm Dot Com, the Boy Brow, and the Haloscope Highlighter. I can't wait to try them. Who knows, they might even make it into my monthly favorites!

With all this inspiration, I couldn't help but to incorporate it in my wardrobe. I'm usually not a big fan of wearing color but with my current obsession with pink I like wearing more feminine pieces. Being pretty in pink is a favorite of mine and I'm sure with my daily inspiration I'll do it more often.
