Im glad I'm putting in the time to take more pictures of myself because I'm absolutely loving the outcome! I was looking forward to going to a new teashop that opened up in the Arts District but surprisingly they were closed! Their sign said they were open Monday-Sunday but for some odd reason, they were closed. Plan A failed sadly. However, being in the Arts District I easily came up with a Plan B. The first time I came across Mateo Street was when I found out there was an Artists and Fleas in California after my trip to New York (flashback!). After having gone to Artists & Fleas in LA I found some really cool spots, one of them being this French Restaurant called Church & State. I look to go here for a special birthday or a special dinner one day but for now I got some nice shots of its beautiful exterior.

While I was in the Arts District I happened upon this spot. What a great location for pictures especially with what I was wearing. Also, the Arts District Co-Op which is like a hole in the wall marketplace where individual sellers sell their jewelry, clothes, candles, books, etc. was literally right next door. I like that I'm finding more and more places in LA. I come from the valley so it can be difficult to find cool places in the city considering I don't live there. Sometimes you just gotta drive and in places like the Arts District you're bound to find some top notch spots. I went to Blue Bottle Coffee and Verve Coffee Roasters to try out their coffee to complete my top 5 coffee shops in LA so stay tuned it's coming soon! I'm going to call my adventures in the city "Girl + City" so if you want to follow my city adventures without having to search the entire blog you can just select the tag. I hope that makes it easier for you guys!

My good friend and fellow blogger +Alexus Fay tagged me in the Sweater Weather tag as Autumn slowly but surely arriving. Check her out!

1. Favorite candle scent?

Gardenia and Tuberose

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?

Tea

3. What’s the best fall memory you have?

Being inside the house nice and warm with an entire day void of work cuddling with my cats and watching films in the dark accompanied by baked goods or hot beverages.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?

I can’t leave the house without wings. How am I supposed to fly without them?

5. Best fragrance for fall?

The scent of pie

6. Favorite Thanksgiving food?

It’s all about the mac and cheese

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?

Seasons don’t really happen in Cali. It gets a little colder or stays hot. However, in Autumn the sky is clear and it’s sunny but it’s Cali cold so about 60 degrees. That means you can wear a light coat but still wear shorts, dresses, and even sandals.

8. Most worn sweater?

I don’t have many sweaters but the one I’ve been rocking has been this camel Banana Republic sweater I thrifted in summer last year.

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?

I’ve been feeling greys and pinks lately.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?

If by football games you mean half time shows right? Haha no. Jumping in leaf piles.

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?

My hips don’t lie so leggings

12. Combat boots or Uggs?

Combat boots.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?

No. Never. Stop. Immediately. Ew.

14. Favorite fall TV show(s)?

America’s Next Top Model and all of Tyra’s craziness. I haven’t been watching a lot of TV so I would say Youtube videos regarding baking tutorials, makeup tutorials, and room tours.

15. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?

Sweater Weather by the Neighborhood ;) (get it haha)

I have a lot of neutral colors in my wardrobe but I decided to purchase something red. As I'm becoming older, I'm finding that I want to be more feminine. That comes along with taking care of myself and working with clothing I've never worn before. I'm liking it and I think I'll continue to like it from here on out. By the way, I have finally obtained a tripod so now I can post some outfit pictures for you guys which I have been trying to do for the longest time. More to come!

Blacktop Coffee + The Pie Hole

September 25, 2015

Spending time with my girls is essential. We all know driving in LA is crazy, well driving in Downtown LA is insane. Why must all the best bars, restaurants, cafe's, and shops all be in Downtown Los Angeles?! Me and my girls took on the city of LA and it's pavement to have a nice reunion brunch. Our attempt to find parking and ran our timing right out of the brunch specials.
                                                                                      LA: 1             Girls: 0
So we yelped and found Pitchoun! that was thankfully still serving crepes and waffles. Not only was the presentation of the place amazing, the taste was even more compelling. I got the waffle with fresh berries and vanilla bean cream on the side, but if I were to revisit this place I would get the crepe because the taste of that was one of the best I've ever had. Babes that Brunch is officially a thing. (Low key want to call it B*tches that Brunch)

Coffee Commissary definitely goes on my list as some of the best quality coffee I've had in LA. What a beautiful little gem of a cafe in the city of Burbank. Share coffee with people that makes you smile.

Once again, I have taken myself out on a day of adventure, destination Echo Park. Taking yourself out and treating yourself to a nice place you've always wanted to go without company is amazing. Incorporate some self-romance in your life! Whether it's having a glass of wine and watching Netflix or sitting in a cafe and chilling on your computer, trust me it's worth it.

I met up with a friend and fellow blogger in the Arts District (the usual spot) for some pie (the usual choice of food) at the Pie Hole. It was our first time going into Poketo and some other shops around the area. Nothing major but I finally got a current picture of myself up so I'm pretty stoked about that. Let me just say that it doesn't matter if your shirtdress is wrinkled, as long as you got a leather jacket on, you can still get a good shot. Low key felt self conscious about the wrinkles no lie but hey.

I've always been the type of person where if I wanted to go somewhere and I didn't have anyone to go with, I would still go. As much as I love hanging out with my girls and even my family, I absolutely value and love the time that I spend with myself. I take myself out! I go out on adventures and romance myself with beautiful shops, coffee, restaurants, you know name it. I love that about me. So, I took myself out to General Store and then hopped on over to Abbot Kinney in Venice. General store is in such a random location but my goodness what a diamond in the ruff. It was filled with little trinkets, jewelry, and clothing I awkwardly gawked at in the corner dreaming of someday being able to afford a $300 linen dress. More adventures to come!

I found out about the Louis Vuitton Series 2 Los Angeles Exhibition in one of my classes. At the time my schedule did not allow me to go with the class therefore I wasn't planning on going at all. However, considering the exhibition was open to the public I decided that I was going to go and  I took some friends that are also interested in fashion along with me. It was an incredible experience. I got to see the behind the scenes of the fashion shows as well as the step by step process of the creation of the clothes and handbags in an artistic and expressive way. I'm find myself pretty lucky to have been able to attend the exhibition as the Louis Vuitton Exhibition 1 was in London and the Louis Vuitton Exhibition 3 is going to be in Japan.

I hope you guys enjoy a peak inside!

Growing up in the valley I never quite understood why people lived in the city, what kept them there. It wasn't until I was surrounded by nothing but concrete and old high rise buildings that I came to understand one's love for the city. The idea that there is always some sort of new discovery whether it be a coffee shop, a flower shop, or stylish women and men flooding the streets, you see something new everyday. The streets are loud and the people even louder but the city has depth. How fresh. How intriguing. Look at me getting all deep. Ha! Anyways I've come to love the streets of New York and I can't wait to visit them again.
